If you are seeing a GP in relation to a new motor vehicle accident, please let the receptionist know so that a double appointment can be made. It would be helpful to bring along any information relating to the accident, including the details of the other driver involved, as this information is needed for filling out forms. It is up to you to notify your insurance company. Once the CTP Insurer receives your claim form, they will issue a claim number. Provide this claim number to your GP or to the reception staff, if you require further treatment for your claim-related injuries.
MVA claims are not covered by Medicare. Invoice for consults and medical reports will be sent to CTP Insurer. However, if your claim is not successful, any accounts will be need to be paid by you at the time of consult.
